One of the most exciting discoveries from our trip to Atlanta last month was hand-crafted furniture by Cody Road Workshops.

     As we made our way through gifts and accessories, we stumbled upon the showroom for Tommy Walker’s Cody Road Workshops.  While this husband and wife business began in 1994, Tommy has been designing and building furniture for over 30 years.  The products we will carry from their line all match our ongoing commitment to buy furniture that is made in America (Mt. Airy, Georgia in this case) with quality hardwood and no particle board.

     This brand is unique in that it features a wide variety of painted and stained finishes that can also be distressed.  The line covers a variety of styles such as Traditional, Cottage, Country Sophisticate, and Shaker pieces.  Our first shipment should arrive in March or April, but it is not too early to come in and take a look at the catalog or make custom orders.  Furniture can also be viewed on their main website.

     One of our personal favorites is the cubby cabinets (one example is the ivory piece in the lower center photo).  These cabinets are ideal for housing boots, shoes, backpacks, and umbrellas in an attractive way.  They could be right at home in an entry way, mudroom, kitchen, or even rooms that need a place for extra storage such as a child’s room or home office.
